Lava Cap Winery

Lava Cap is a third-generation family estate winery near Placerville in the Apple Hill area of the Sierra Foothills, at about 2,700 feet elevation. Visitors can taste wines at the tasting room, with offerings spanning whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Vermentino, Rosé, sparkling), reds (Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah), and Port. The winery also hosts events, including a summer concert series with live music, and has a wine club and gift shop.
