Pacific Southwest Railway Museum

The Pumpkin Express is an annual Halloween train ride run by the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum from its Campo Depot, taking riders through the San Diego County backcountry in restored 1920s vintage railcars along the historic San Diego and Arizona Railway. Coach and First Class seating are available, plus optional locomotive cab rides (ages 6+). After the ride, visitors can decorate pumpkins from an outdoor pumpkin patch and view Halloween scenes and haunted train cars in the museum's Display Building. Costumes are welcome.

Hours: October 10-31, 2026, Saturdays and Sundays; trains depart 10:30am, 1pm, and 2:30pm
